The IPU Starting Division provides a complete range of non-electric starting systems to ensure you have guaranteed engine starting in hazardous and demanding environments, anywhere in the world.

 

IPU STARTING PRODUCTS

We provide custom stating solutions for most makes and sizes of diesel engine. IPU hydraulic, nitrogen and spring starting products provide certainly on a wide range of critical applications including standby generators, fire pumps and other diesel engine driven equipment.

 

Design and engineering expertise from IPU has been tested in some of the harshest environments on earth, from sub zero temperatures off Russian coasts to the banking heat of the Arabian deserts. IPU offer starting solutions where others cannot.

 

HYDRAULIC STARTING SYSTEMS

IPU hydraulic engine starting systems provide guaranteed reliability, no matter how challenging or unpredictable the environment. This truly independent start method can be specified as the main starting system or as a back up to electric or air starting, offering an unbeatable level of efficiency in sub-zero temperatures and hazardous settings, including areas with ATEX requirements.

 

NITROGEN STARTING PACKAGES

IPU nitrogen starting modules are designed for starting diesel engines in conjunction with a standard air starter motor. As nitrogen is an inert gas, it provides the ideal solution for emergency back up to the primary starting system on applications such as fire pumps or generators in offshore and hazardous areas, where secondary starting is essential.

 

SPRING STARTER MOTORS

The IPU range of spring starters are tough, simple and cost effective alternatives to battery starting. Capable of starting diesel engines up to 12 litres with a choice of heavy duty models, as well as alloy and Z drive starters for applications where space and weight are crucial. Manual spring starters ensure reliable starting - time and time again. They are resistant to damp and extremes of temperature, making them an ideal choice for offshore and saliferous environments. They are also ideally suited to hazardous zones where electric starting is prohibited due to the potential for sparks to cause an explosion.
