Today, Murphy continues to expand its product breadth for engine manufacturers and operators, providing a full spectrum of engine management solutions. These range from electronic and mechanical controls to custom engineered compressor control panels and systems, plus turn-key MPI ignition systems and air-fuel control systems, through our joint venture partner, Compliance Controls.

 

For the gas transmission industry, Murphy's single components are easily integrated into complete systems designed to meet gas compression control needs. And our complete line of fault annunciators and programmable control and monitoring systems enable microprocessor based monitoring, control and data acquisition.

 

For field gas gathering, from recovery to compression to pumping - no matter how remote - Murphy helps manage gas compression applications with our proven control, monitoring and communications systems and our MPI ignition systems and Compliance Control air-fuel ratio systems.

Custom-engineered compressor control panels, housed in weatherproof enclosures, provide all degrees of system protection through our proven concept of simplified automation. We offer designs that are suitable for hazardous as well as non-hazardous locations. We specialise in working closely with our customers to develop customised solutions that fit your unique application needs.

 

Our control Systems & Services division located in Rosenberg, Texas, custom designs and fabricates control systems primarily used for engine and electric motor-driven natural gas compressors. These systems include basic annunciation and control solutions, plus more sophisticated systems utilizing programmable logic controllers.

 

Use of standardised designs and lean manufacturing techniques result in quick delivery for many applications. Thousands of "red" Murphy compressor panels in use today provide reliable equipment protection and innovative solutions for our customers.

 

CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION FOR ENGINE APPLICATIONS

Murphy offers hundreds of products that monitor and control compressor, pumps, generators, and more. Our control systems monitor pressure, temperature, liquid level, overspeed, time and vibration.

 

Products cover the spectrum, from simple start and stop operation to sophisticated automation systems incorporating micro controllers and remote communications.

 

From pressure and temperature gages, fluid level maintainers and switches for magnetic switches, controllers, fuel and scrubber dump valves, we package solutions to fit your needs.

TTD SERIES

SELECTRONIC® Fault Annunciator

Solid-state fault annunciator and shutdown control system designed to protect engines, compressors and their associated equipment. Accepts 48 sensor inputs from normally open and/or normally closed sensors.

PRESSURE SWICHGAGEMitter®

Combination 4-20 mA pressure transmitter and indicating gage with adjustable low and high limit contacts or snap acting switches.

TXDM TEMPERATURE SCANNER/PYROMETER

Fully configurable with a built-in power supply and liquid crystal display window with large, easy to read characters. Easy touch membrane keys are on the faceplate for additional configuring.

VS2 SERIES SHOCK AND VIBRATION SWITCH

Shock sensitive mechanisms for shutdown of engine or electric motor powered equipment.

MC SERIES MILLENNIUM CONTROLLER

The Full Featured Programmable Control and Monitoring System


PC-based monitoring, control and data acquisition system. Designed with engine driven compressors in mind, the MC Series is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

 

IGNITION SYSTEMS TO MAXIMIZE POWER

Murphy Power Ignition products are sold as one of the newest product lines in the Murphy product lineup. These processor-based, capacitor-discharge ignition systems maximise the power and operation of spark-ignited natural gas-powered engines.

 

Applications include oil and gas, construction, cogeneration and agriculture, or wherever ignition controls are needed to provide a more cost-efficient or emission-controlled operation.

 

MPI systems utilize the latest microprocessor based designs to provide operators of today's industrial gas engines with increased programming capabilities and more visible diagnostics.

 

A Comprehensive product line allows for turn-key ignition system installations, with components including the controller, sensors, harnesses, coils, detonation sensing system and alternator.

Systems provide true primary and secondary diagnostics with five timing reference options including camless operation and 16-bit or 32-bit microprocessor controllers. The easy-to-read display can be read locally or remotely.

IGNITION COILS

MPI Ignition Coils are designed for true secondary diagnostics/prognostics. Included are MPI Smart CoilTM designs. All coils have patented secondary monitoring lead to perform in-depth diagnostics/prognostics.
